First things first
Your baby’s safety is always my highest priority. Every newborn session is carefully planned to provide a calm, secure environment. I take great pride in the professional newborn safety training I’ve completed to care for my tiniest clients. Newborn sessions are most successful when following a guideline of a few tips! Newborn sessions run more smoothly when you keep a few helpful tips in mind.

Tips to prepare for your session:
- Please dress your baby in a sleeper that zips or snaps in the front. This allows for easy removal and minimizes disturbance if your baby is already asleep upon arrival.
- Please bring a pacifier, even if your baby doesn’t typically use one. Sucking is one of the most effective ways to soothe baby during posing and transitions. If you strongly prefer not to use one, I completely understand.
- Please feed your baby before leaving home. Many babies fall asleep during the car ride. If your baby wakes hungry upon arrival, we will feed again to ensure a nice full belly. If you are traveling more than 30 minutes, feeding upon arrival often works best. The best images often come from a “milk-drunk” baby.
- Newborn sessions typically last 1.5–3 hours, depending on the session selected. This includes feeding, changing, soothing, posing, and setup. My studio is designed to be relaxed and comfortable, with space for parents to rest, snack, work if needed, and enjoy the process.
- If you’d like to include a sentimental or personal item, please consult with me ahead of time. Clothing not made specifically for newborn photography often overwhelms babies and is oversized. Styling for our sessions is neutral and timeless, using carefully chosen wraps, headbands, hats, and props provided by the studio.
- Family and sibling images with young children are typically photographed at the beginning of the session. If siblings remain for the entire session, please bring a few quiet activities to keep them occupied and calm, as well as contained to the waiting area. There are also nearby places to eat and a park close to the studio if another family member would like to take them for a break.
